Photos on my Website Have Been Updated!

I finally got around to taking clean pictures of all my recent art works. And they've been updated to my Facebook and website. But just for ease, you can click on the "Read More" link to see all of them at one go. Please do note that it's picture heavy, even though I've resized all pictures to be of low resolution for easy page loading, and might cause those of you on slower internet speeds some trouble.

In any case, you can see most of my art works via the following places:

Geisha (in a week): Day 7- Completed!

Part of my "Geisha in a Week" blog series.

So, it's finally finished. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Beautiful simplicity. Gorgeous line work. I couldn't be more happy with how much I've improved over the years. The inspiration behind it was when I saw another artist doing a drawing of a geisha, and I thought, "Hey, that's a great idea. I should draw a geisha too." And here we are. :)

Painting of the Day: Growth

"Growth" by Kerby Rosanes
I wanted to do a special mention of this piece, because I watched a documentary regarding "The Venus Project" and I felt like I needed to feature something with regards to Mother Earth... The detail in this piece is amazing. 15 hours worth of work. There's even a process video of it. You can watch it here. Or you can go see his Deviantart.

Yin-Yang Fish- Completed!

"Yin-Yang Fish" by Stephanie Jennifer

Yin Yang Fish commission piece
I'm actually really pleased with myself for finishing this in two days and not dragging it out till forever... I think it's a beautiful drawing and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The lines are clean; everything is nicely inked; no smudges and all that. Now I'm just left with framing it.

Watch the process video of it below. You saw it first on this blog! It'd be up on my Instagram (@havepen_willdraw) in a few days. ^-^

Commission Piece: Yin-Yang Fish

Plural of fish: "fish" or "fishes"; either is correct.

This is a commission piece for a businessman as a return of a favour. As you know, I'm really big on symbolism in my Art. Fishes- the symbol of abundance. Yin-Yang- the zen symbol for balance. A unity of two halves in a circle... Circles are a symbol for continuity. I quite like this piece as it is, but it's not finished yet.

Cats of the World: Photo and Art Exhibition (5th, 12th, 19th July 2014)

Cats of the World: Photo & Art Exhibition
5th, 12th, 19th July 2014
11am to 6pm
@ The Arts House, 1 Old Parliament Lane

I went to the Cats of the World photo and art exhibition yesterday. There were photos and arts of cats; small booths selling clothes, notebooks, collars, bowls, crafts, and all sorts of other trinkets. It had great atmosphere. The people there all were really enthusiastic about helping out the Car Welfare Society, and I highly recommend you going there on the 12th or the 19th this month.

Above: Poster for the event

Above: They gave out free samples of Fancy Feast's Mornings to early birds.

Above: Name cards of the shops selling goodies at the event. Awesome stuff there.

And finally, a polaroid of me outside The Arts House with a red sticker of a neutered cat stuck on it.
You can get a sticker if you make a donation to the Cat Welfare Society.
The Cat Welfare Society does lots of good for the community, stray cats, and cats who need to be adopted. The people at the event really were passionate about cats. The items on sale were really cute and unique. What better way to spend your day than to help out the Cat Welfare Society and get cute things while you're at it too. So book your calendar! Happening on the 12th and the 19th of July.
