down with the sniffles

I'm down with a slight fever, splitting headache, and a runny nose... So I'm going to keep this post short.

Last week, I introduced "Pog the pig" to my students. He's a ceramic piggy bank I got for $2 and then tangled on with an Identipen. The tangles are starting to wear out a little so I was thinking of using a sealant to seal the ink.

If you know any sealant brands that work well with ceramic, let me know in the comments section below.

Original pig.

I made his eyes bigger so he'll be more cute.

Everyone loves the swirly tail. hehehe

Really simple Zendala on the side.

Here's my submission for Joey's challenge. Featuring Girdy. I added cool shading to it.

And here's my submission for Diva's challenge. Featuring colours of my country's flag- red and white, and one of my own tangles; Singapore Sling. I added some colloured pencils to the background, too.

And as always, here are some tiles I completed for the Travelling Tangles Project.
A tile from Shawna Martin. I added Zonked on the top left. I love Zonked. It's so dramatic.

Tile done with Debra Huff. I did the background.

I'm really proud of this one.
Done with Marguerite Samama.

In other news, I got my braces removed. Woohoo!

And lastly, here's a pouch that one of my students did. She's twelve years old only! I'm beyond proud of her.

  1. What wonderful tiles you have produced. A great response to the Diva's challenge and amazing Girdy for Joey. That piggy bank is amazing, sorry I can't help with sealant suggestions.

  2. Another wonderful gallery show today! I'm sorry you're not well:-( I really love your Joey challenge-very original and creative. Funny, I just saw Singapore Sling somewhere, not knowing what it was called or where it came from, and made note of it in my sketchbook because I liked it so much. Thank you for all of the inspiration you share;-)

    1. Only when you're ill do you realise how important health is.... :(

I'd love to see what you create with Singapore Sling. It's also the main theme for the Travelling Tangles Project's monthly swap for August. :D

  3. For a person who hasn't been feeling well, you have been VERY productive. I also cannot recommend a sealant for your pig, but he is a very nice pig. I visited Singapore in 2014 (before I was a tangler), but I didn't remember that the flag was red and white. I visited 4 other countries in Southeast Asia before arriving there, so I think all the flags have smushed together in my brain. What did you use for the red background? I need to try your Singapore Sling tangle. I had one of the liquid kind in that very high outside bar on top of the Raffles Centre. I hope you are feeling better. PS: Very nice smile!

    1. Singapore's flag is red on top and white at the bottom, with a moon and five stars on the top left corner. Visiting so many countries must have been wonderful. And yes; Singapore Sling is an alcoholic drink, too! Hahaha I'd love to see what you create with the tangle version of it.

Thank you for your kind comment. :)

  4. Wow, so much done while feeling down. All beautiful! Take care.

  5. Oh wow!! Everything is amazing!

  7. Lovely tiles! Your Joey one is exceptional.

  8. All tiles are beautiful, and your Girdy in hollibugh style is just amazing! I love it!
